SDSRM in Deadwood?
Yes, thanks to Kevin, Mike, and the great staff at the Deadwood Historic Preservation Office, the SDSRM has been allowed to install a display/promotion center in the former Fremont, Elkhorn and Missouri Valley/Chicago and North Western depot building in the center of Deadwood!
The depot is now used at the city’s primary information and visitor’s center – nearly 240,000 folks visited in 2011, so the visibility and promotion of the SDSRM will be fantastic.
So, the next time you are in Deadwood stop by and see another part of the SDSRM’s collection and learn more about Deadwood and South Dakota rail history – and say Hello to Sophie, the center’s manager.
